A family law attorney and mediator, Susan has a private law practice in the northwest Chicago suburbs and practices primarily in McHenry and Lake counties. She limits her family law/divorce services to helping clients accomplish a divorce or resolve their family disputes and differences through Collaborative Family Law representation or Mediation services. I believe the traditional adversarial court-based system is not conducive to resolve these personal/family matters and too often discourages communication between the clients, promotes positioning, and frequently results in the increase and prolonging of expenditures, conflict, and disharmony between the clients.
The manner by which you resolve your divorce/family dispute is your CHOICE. Give thoughtful consideration to all your options and talk to different professionals to determine the option that is most appropriate for your situation. How you proceed in this personal/family matter can greatly impact your future and your childrens futures.
"My hope is for those who are transitioning from a couple to separate lives and a restructured family unit or those experiencing personal/family disputes, will do so as peacefully, thoughtfully, and as informed as possible. The foundation for a desirable transition begins right now, as the decision is made as how best to proceed to resolve these personal matters. The choice is yours to make. By choosing a more peaceful and empowering process to resolve the family dispute/divorce, perhaps those involved will have a greater opportunity to experience and realize the highest quality of life as possible post-divorce/dispute. This is the beginning of a new beginning for you!!
